The UIC College of Engineering is the second largest college of engineering in Illinois. With the exception of a few lecturers who hold Master degrees, all faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees from major universities. In FY 00, the College faculty received over twenty million dollars in grants and contracts and in gifts from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations. Since 1982, the College faculty has sustained the largest off-campus M.S. program in Illinois, which at the end of AY 00-01 had graduated about four hundred M.S. students in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering. There is no distinction between undergraduate and graduate faculty, and between on-campus and off-campus teaching: all faculty members are expected to participate in teaching activities at all levels and at all locations. Additional details on publications and funded research may be found in several College and departmental brochures.
