About
Dr. Hossein Ataei is Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Construction Engineering and Management Program at UIC. He is also the Director of Undergraduate Studies at Civil, Materials, and Environmental Engineering Department. Professor Ataei is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States (States of Nevada, Texas, and Wyoming) and a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada (Provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec). Dr. Ataei's academic and professional interests are in the fields of Construction Engineering and Project Management, Forensic Engineering, Strategic Management, and the Professional Engineering Education. Prior to joining the academia, Hossein has worked in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering and Management Consulting for large-scale mega infrastructure projects with the leading global engineering, procurement, and construction firms. Professor Ataei serves the engineering profession as an ABET Accreditation Program Evaluator (PEV) for Civil Engineering, and Construction Engineering programs across the US and internationally. Dr. Ataei has a PhD in Civil Engineering from University of Southern California, and holds three Masters degrees in Civil Engineering (MSCE); Construction Management (MCM); and Business Administration (MBA). The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE - Illinois Section) has awarded Hossein Ataei as the "2021 Construction Engineering Person of the Year".
